Everything they owned was in one garbage bag.

They came to our campus with everything they owned in one garbage bag. Most of it needed to be thrown away. Siblings Jessy*, 16 years old, and David*, 14 years old, were found living in a tent behind an abandoned building. While traveling for work, their father would leave them on their own for weeks at a time with just a couple dollars for food.

On their first day here, they were overwhelmed with gratefulness for the simple items we provided like soap, a toothbrush and clean towels. Even more important than the physical items we provided, is that we were able to share with Jessy and David about Jesus Christ. Within the first month of them being with us, both siblings accepted Christ as their Savior.

We are so excited that we have been able to help these two precious children at their greatest point of need. Only by God’s grace and your financial giving are we able to care for children like Jessy and David.

Summer is coming and the sad reality is that many children will be without food while out of school. Sometimes, the meals they eat at school are the only meals they eat each day. But school will be out soon, and so many of these children will go to bed each night with an empty belly.

With increasing needs confronting children, Florida Baptist Children’s Homes is being called upon to do even more. Please give today so that we can provide more children with food!
