Women throughout North Florida are Invited to an Inspirational “Come and See” Event in Tallahassee to Impact the Lives of Children in Need
(Tallahassee, FL) – Sat., Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Florida Baptist Children’s Homes (FBCH) will present “Come and See,” an inspiring and educational event especially for women throughout the North Florida region. The event will take place on the Tallahassee campus located at 8415 Buck Lake Road.
“Come and See” is open to the public and the cost is $20 per person. Lunch will be served and the event will feature singer Kristi Brown as well as entertainment by ventriloquist Julie Boyd, FBCH’s vice president of church relations. There will be words of inspiration by FBCH, One More Child and The Porch Light president Jerry Haag, Ph.D., CFP®, who will shed light on the tremendous needs of children in North Florida and around the world.
Also during the event, there will be a tour of the cottages on the Tallahassee campus and stories of real lives changed.
Former campus resident, Melanie Moncada, who is currently a senior at Florida State University, will share how her field of study, Family and Child Services, was decided upon because of the impact of FBCH.
“I began living on the Tallahassee campus when I was just five years old, and the time I spent there shaped me and helped make the person I am today,” said Moncada.
Florida Baptist Children’s Homes is proud to be celebrating more than 110 years of helping children! From the opening of our first orphanage in 1904 to our present day ministries that have expanded to provide safe, stable homes and services to children and families in need across the state and around the globe, we are honored to be helping children in tangible ways. In 2014, we were privileged to care for more than 106,000 children and families through foster care, adoption services, compassion ministries and more.
