Start with Prayer

• Pray for the suffering children and an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty.
• Pray that the church will give hope to those families who feel there is none.

Offer Respite

• Volunteer at the Lakeland resources donated to hurting families. (Contact Leon.Battles@FBCHomes.org for more information.)
• Teach a single mother and simple meal (that they can cook again in the future).
• Encourage members of your church to mentor a single mom involved in the Single Mothers and assistance in getting started.
• Involve your youth and/or church families in a mission trip service opportunity through iServe Kids.
• Volunteer to teach specialized classes on subject matter that will help a young mom get a fresh start (parenting classes, financial matters, spiritual guidance).

Utilize Resources

• Become a sponsor for a single mom in need through FBCH.
• Donate appropriate clothing for moms to help prepare them to enter the workforce.
• Donate and deliver gently used furniture for moms transitioning to independence.
• Host a yard sale to raise money for the Mother/Child ministry. Donate all unsold items to the donation center nearest you.
