And you will recognize him by this sign: You will
find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.
Luke 2:12 (NLT)
This Christmas and throughout the year at Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, we have children of all ages in our care who are in need of a loving, caring family. We are humbled and blessed to consistently witness children’s lives transformed. Lives like baby Elena’s* …
Elena was born to a mother who was homeless and unable to care for her needs. The day after Elena was born, her mother wrapped her up in a blanket and tearfully set the baby on the doorstep of a fire station “Safe Haven.” Florida Baptist Children’s Homes was contacted and baby Elena was placed in our care.
Florida Baptist Children’s Homes staff reached out to the birth mother to sign an adoption consent that would allow her to stay in touch with the baby and receive updates and photos. The mother was also encouraged to write Elena a letter and in it she says, “I had to make a decision to give you a better life; I didn’t want you to struggle. I love you … you mean the world to me and I just want you to have the world.”
Today, precious Elena is safe and thriving in her adoptive home where her needs are met and she is shown sacrificial love by her parents. Because of partners like you who come alongside us to care for children, baby Elena’s young life has been tremendously impacted!
Whether it is providing clean diapers to a newborn baby, food for a hungry child, safety for an abused child or foster or adoptive homes to children in crisis, we work to share with children who have been abused, neglected and abandoned the protective and healing love of Jesus Christ.
During this Christmas season, please consider giving generously to Florida Baptist Children’s Homes. Your Christmas gift can be made in honor or memory of a loved one and will help bring hope to children like Elena all year long. We are profoundly appreciative of your gifts that help us to care for one more child!
