|Are you part of a family, church, or organization interested in taking the next step to become involved in adoptive or foster care, but don’t know where to start? Are you a child welfare worker or advocate who craves to understand the latest trends, theories and practices that are informing the industry today? If the answer is “YES” to either question, Florida Baptist Children’s Homes is delighted to offer you a practical, affordable solution to your dilemma! Florida Baptist Children’s Homes (FBCH) is excited to partner with Show Hope to support the 2016 Empowered To Connect Simulcast being held on April 8-9 throughout Florida.
Show Hope is an organization founded by Christian recording artist Stephen Curtis Chapman and his wife, Mary Beth, and its focus is to engage the church to care for orphans and reduce the barriers to adoption.
Dr. Karyn Purvis (Director of the Texas Christian University Institute of Child Development) is leading the two-day conference and it is an opportunity for people to learn how to connect with children from hard places in order to help them heal and become all that God desires them to be.
The cost to attend, if any, is between $10 and $50 a person depending on the location and an FBCH staff member will be onsite at several locations to engage with attendees and answer questions about foster and adoptive care.
The locations we encourage you to attend are:
