To see Isabella’s* bright smile today, you might not imagine what she has been through in her short 10 years of life. Isabella endured unimaginable trauma at home. At the worst point of the cruelty, her mother would withhold food from her as punishment. In addition to the physical abuse, her mother would tell her that she was ugly and that no one would ever want her. As a result, Isabella’s heart had become as cold and hard as the floor she had slept on for most of her life.
Isabella was removed from her home and placed with one of our Florida Baptist Children’s Homes foster families. Soon after, her foster family decided to give Isabella a “forever home” with them. The family was certain that the Lord had brought Isabella into their home and into their hearts for His redemptive purpose.
Once her adoption was finalized, Isabella attended LifeWay summer camp where she began to process the truth of God’s love and plans for her life. During a camp worship service, Isabella, with tears in her eyes and a softened heart, trusted Christ as her Lord and Savior.
We celebrate with thanksgiving the new life Isabella has received! Isabella has not only gained a forever family, but she also found God, who has always loved her and seen her as beautiful!
