snowfest thanksLast Friday, Florida State University brought the Tallahassee community a taste of winter!

100,000 pounds of the stuff covered the FSU band practice field for their 9th Annual Holiday Snow Festival.

The event was free and open to the public, but they did request an unwrapped holiday gift to be donated to Florida Baptists Children’s home.

Panhandle Area Administrator Kyle Luke says, “This year was great. We had about 200 or so toys donated to us with another 100 toys being delivered this week due to this event.” Kyle Luke was later invited onstage to thank the attendees.

Jay Long, a compassionate young man with a heart for children, coordinates the event every year. He seeks out sponsors to pay for pizza, hot chocolate, cider, cookies, real snow and of course a visit from Santa!

This is the second year Florida Baptist Children’s Homes has been the recipient of the donations.

A huge thank you to all the attendees for your generous gifts – the kids are going to LOVE it!
