PINELLAS PARK – Six Cadette Girl Scouts with Troop 726, based at First Baptist Church of Pinellas Park, earned the Silver Award.

The girls worked for two years to earn this award, which is the highest award for a Cadette. Their project was to plan and execute three events for the children that reside at Florida Baptist Children’s Homes in Lakeland.

For Christmas, they gathered more than 125 gifts for the children. They planned a Valentine’s Day Party, that included games, crafts and teaching the children to make homemade ice cream in Ziploc bags.

For Easter, they planned a party with a cooked lunch, games, teaching the children to make candy and an Easter Egg Hunt. The girls also made a game table for the children and delivered it at the Easter party.

They received the Silver Award on Nov. 3.
