Kids Help Kids with their VBS Offering

Kids at North Hillsborough Baptist Church in Arcadia raised $1,200 for the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes this summer as part of their Vacation Bible School (VBS) offering project.

The more than 50 children participating in the VBS program picked the Children’s Homes because they loved the concept of Kids Helping Kids. All of the kids came forward during the church service to present the check to the Children’s Homes.

“They had a competition, boys against girls. They didn’t even tell me the outcome of the competition because they felt like the kids at the children’s homes won since they were able to raise so much money!” said Julie Boyd, vice president of development for the Children’s Homes.

“God worked in a powerful way during our Vacation Bible School.  The children were really moved to give sacrificially,” said Pastor Ellis Cross.

“In addition, during Vacation Bible School several children received Christ as their personal savior, and many came to the altar to pray for the salvation of their parents.”
