Volunteer for The Porch Light
Will you help us rescue and restore child victims of domestic sex trafficking? In the coming weeks and months, we will need volunteers to assist The Porch Light in advocacy and prevention efforts and more details will be offered soon on how you can be a part of doing just that. However, if you have a passion for this ministry and desire to work directly with trafficked victims, we are looking for female volunteers to attend a mandatory training scheduled to be held at FBC at the Mall on January 15 – 17, 2015.
The dates and times are listed:
Thursday, January 15, 2015 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Friday, January 16, 2015 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (lunch provided)
Saturday, January 17, 2015 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (lunch provided)
Space is limited, so register today! Click here to register.
The training is a “certified training” through FAAST (Faith Alliance Against Slavery and Trafficking). The cost is $85.00. The cost includes training curriculum, lunch on Friday and Saturday as well as snacks. Those who participate are asked to bring their Bibles to the training. This training will be required by anyone interested in working directly with the victims that will be brought to The Porch Light through Florida Baptist Children’s Homes.
If you need help with registration, please contact the following:
First Baptist Church at the Mall
1010 E. Memorial Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33801

Additionally, as a pre-requisite for the training, there is an online training course offered through Polaris. There is no charge associated with this pre-requisite training.
