Mission Focus and Projects
We will be working to support the efforts of the Children’s Malnutrition Center outside of Antigua, Guatemala. We will be interacting with the children as well as doing some maintenance projects on the facilities.

Each team that goes to the Malnutrition Center will be involved in a work project that will allow half of the team to do a maintenance project while the other half will work directly with the children. The work that will be done will be determined by the skill level of the team.

There are many projects that need to be done to help bring the Malnutrition Center up to a standard where they can minister to more children. Currently the Center can only take care of 40 children but it has the capacity to handle 200 children. The children served by the Center range from seven months to seven years of age.

About Guatemala
Guatemala has a population of approximately 12 million people, with more than 70% of the people living below the poverty line. It is estimated that there are over 370,000 orphans in Guatemala. Many of these children come from families burdened with extreme poverty.
