Frank arrived with 32 broken bones

In 2016, nearly 16,000 children in Florida were removed from their home because of abuse, aband/or neglect. Many of those children are like Frank*, who came into the care of one of our foster families several years ago, arriving with 32 broken bones. His biological family initially claimed that Frank had a genetic bone disease but it was soon determined that his injuries were a result of extreme child abuse.

His tiny, frail body was wrapped in a sling cast. Baby Frank’s foster parents had to be very careful when holding him so that his injuries could heal properly. Not only was his body fragile, he was also behind developmentally. Due to the trauma he endured in his short life, he rarely cried or showed any emotion at all.

The foster parents attended to Frank’s needs with love and they interacted graciously with the professionals who were involved in the case. As Frank’s case continued through the court process, there were many heart-wrenching moments. The birth mother finally decided to surrender her rights, making Frank available for adoption.

Because of the bond our foster family created with Frank, they prayerfully decided to make him a part of their family, forever! Today, Frank is healed, healthy and providence in baby Frank’s life. What an honor it is for Florida Baptist Children’s Homes to be a part of his story!

In 2016, we impacted 171,273 children and show hurting children the life-changing love of Christ. Children like baby Frank.

In 2017, we will continue the fight to push back the darkness children and in the gap as we continue our pursuit to help One More Child.

At Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, gifts of every size are crucial to changing the life of One More Child. Every single gift has immense potential to provide hope and healing!
