Words are not enough to describe our day, but I will try: Welcoming. Spirit-filled. Beautiful. Fun. Engaging. Life changing. Impactful. Delicious. Loving. Hilarious. Informative. Kind. First-class. Moving. Heart-felt. Compassionate. Convicting. Uniting. Creative. Exciting. Blessing. Touching.

In a nutshell: Woah, Mama! (I know it’s not a big Lisa Harper word, but it’s all I got!)

Thank you for your generosity. God really touched our hearts, and we were moved to make a difference. I’m sure you want to know details about the vote so here goes! Every project received votes! And, we had some people who became members but abstained from voting.

Here are the final results:

1st Place – Life Program

2nd Place – Jacksonville Pool replacement

3rd Place – Roof Replacement

And a tie:

4th Place – WOC Camp of Champions

4th Place – Bedroom Furniture

We now have a total number of 84 members.  Our goal is 100 members, so I am prayerful that before the year ends we will reach that number. This allows us to do a 50/50 split with half of our gifts going towards the winning project and use the remaining $34,000 towards the daily needs of the children. AND, as more members join this year we will reach that goal of $50,000 towards the daily needs of the children.

Now for more BIG news:

We had 5 women sign-up for Lisa Harper’s challenge to give an additional $1,000 above ando, September 20-21st. Lisa just confirmed that tickets are still available, but the deadline is March 1. Please let me know if you want to give this additional $1,000 as soon as possible. There are only 25 tickets available for this special invitation. It’s exciting!

Here are the results for our One More Child Women of Compassion Home in Tanzania:

Product Sales:  $3,415

Additional Gifts/Pledges:  $3,000

Total Received:   $6,415

Our Goal:  $65,000

Several of you indicated you would like to talk personally about this project. We will be contacting you soon. In the meantime, please share this need with your friends and let us know if you need more Tanzania honorary cards @$15 each, 4 @$50 or 10@$100.

I wanted to let you know that the scones were compliments of Magnolia Tea Room located at 212 Howard Street in Auburndale. The tea was donated by the Camellia Rose Tea Room located at 120 North Collins Street in Plant City. Let’s show our gratitude by dropping by and having lunch with friends at both these beautiful tea rooms. Be sure to mention WOC!

Again, special thanks to our WOC Council, the amazing FBCH staff, and “we are drinking from our saucer!”

Alongside,

Julie Boyd

Vice President for Development & Communications
