The Kirk Siblings

From left, Wil, Emma and Jack Kirk led an effort at their school in Lakeland, Florida to collect bars of soap for children who must search for food and things to sell at the city dump in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. They were motivated to start the project after seeing a video at their church about the children on Trash Mountain in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Two brothers and their sister; Emma, Wil and Jack Kirk teamed up to collect soap for children in Honduras after seeing a video at their church (First Baptist Church at the Mall in Lakeland) about how some children must search for things they can eat or sell at the city dump in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

“They were so moved by what they saw that they wanted to go right out and spend all of their money to buy soap. Their hearts were just broken for those children,” said their mother, Carrie Kirk.

“They started a soap drive at their school at Lakeland Christian. They loved standing outside of school every morning to greet all the students and parents who wanted to help children thousands of miles away. Eventually our entire family got involved and in the end our entire family was blessed by this simple act of collecting soap!”
