Florida Baptist Children’s Homes is made up of results-oriented professionals who are passionate about helping children and are called to do so through their vocation. Where We're Going X
For over 100 years, God has blessed our ministry greatly. It is truly an exciting time to be working for the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes. Recently we have seen tremendous growth in the the number of children we are able to serve, have opened several new area offices with plans for more, have started a new Safe Families program, and began an international childcare program called Orphan's Heart to serve children throughout the world.  Our view is that the first hundred years of our ministry has laid the foundation as we seek to provide Christ centered services to every child and family in need.

Internships & Volunteer Opportunities X

Occasionally, we have internships available for school credit only. If you are interested in pursuing an internship in the field of social work, please inquire with your closest campus office. If you would like to intern in communications, design, marketing, development, programs, or international missions, please contact our Human Resources department.

If you are having trouble submitting an application, several solutions are available. First, check to see if you are submitting the saved, filled out PDF form. To do this, first save the document, then click the "Submit Application" button. This should open up an email client like Microsoft Outlook and automatically attach the application. If you are using a web based email service like Yahoo or Gmail, you will need to first save the completed document on your computer before attaching it in an email to hr@fbchomes.org.

Also, please double check to see if you are using Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat to complete the application instead of a third party software like Foxit Reader or Apple’s Preview. Using a different PDF application can occasionally cause compatibility issues which may delay your consideration for employment.

House Parents X
Florida Baptist Children's Homes has openings for House Parent couples to serve in a cottage setting, meeting the needs of up to 8 children (ages 5-18). These couples will gain training and knowledge of the overall agency and our programs and provide support and relief to Primary House Parents. Applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, with advanced education preferred. Applicants must also be an active member of a local New Testament church and attend regularly, and be married at least two years. Competitive salary plus room, board, insurance and generous leave. Primary House Parent and Division Lead House Parent X
Florida Baptist Children's Homes has openings for House Parent couples to serve in a cottage setting, meeting the needs of up to 8 children (ages 5-18). Primary House Parents will serve a single cottage, and Division Lead House Parents will rotate between all of the cottages in an assigned region. Applicants must have prior House Parent experience and a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, with advanced education preferred. Foster Parents X
To be eligible to become a foster parent, you:
  • Must be at least 21 years old and have lived in the community for at least six months; an active member of a local Christian church; married with a stable marriage for at least one year (married couples preferred); in good health (a physician's statement is required).

  • Must meet your county's home safety requirements, have sufficient bedrooms, and reliable transportation.

  • Must demonstrate emotional stability and have supportive character references; be financially stable; have no criminal record (fingerprinting is required); agree to discipline without physical punishment; be willing to work with social workers/case workers, other professionals, and the child's biological family; attend 30 hours of foster parent training (known as MAPP — Model Approach to Partnership in Parenting.)

  • Must not be currently employed by Florida Baptist Children's Homes.

State Office
President and Chief Executive Officer X

Florida Baptist Children's Homes is seeking an effective, visionary leader for its ministry. The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes Corporation. As such, this person has the primary staff responsibility for the overall administration of Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, and assures the accomplishment of the Agency’s Mission Statement, as adopted by the Board of Trustees. The President is expected to function within the prescribed policies and procedures of both the Florida Baptist Convention and the Board of Trustees of Florida Baptist Children’s Homes.

The President coordinates the Administrative staff team, working closely with denominational leadership, including the Executive Director/Treasurer of the Florida Baptist Convention and other Chief Executives of Florida Baptist Agencies and Institutions.

Applicants must have at minimum a graduate degree from an accredited university or seminary, with advanced education preferred, and must be an active member of a Southern Baptist Church. Applicants must also have the demonstrated ability to take overall responsibility for the development of a creative and comprehensive Christian service program with statewide facilities within policies adopted by Trustees.

Communications Intern

Description of Duties:  
The duties vary as we try (to the extent possible) to match the interests of our interns with the needs of our communications department. Some of the possible duties include the following:

  • Assist in developing stories for web and print publications including conducting interviews, writing stories, and taking pictures.
  • Assist in layout and design of various publications.
  • Assist with video production including writing, shooting, and editing.
  • Assist in posting stories on our websites.

Requested Majors and Requirements:  
Individuals must be detail oriented, have strong writing skills, and be able to work independently with limited amount of supervision.

Compensation:    Service Learning/No compensation 

Hours/Week:  6-30 hours a week depending on the student’s needs and availability

Case Manager (Part Time), Lakeland

Florida Baptist Children's Homes is seeking to employ a part time Lakeland based Case Manager for its South Division Campus Ministries program. The Case Manager plays a direct role in serving children and families in need by providing for the advocacy and development of abused, neglected, and orphaned children through the case management of clients in the agency’s care.

Florida Baptist Children's Homes is seeking to employ a Lakeland based Adult Care Worker couple for its Central region Adult Developmental Services program. This couple will serve in a cottage setting and will be responsible for the day to day guidance of developmentally disabled adults assigned to the residence.

Family Support Worker, Ft Myers (Part Time)

Florida Baptist Children's Homes is seeking to employ a part time, Ft. Myers based Family Support Worker for its South region. The Family Support Worker will provide support services to appropriate personnel, programs and clients and enhance the agency’s overall effectiveness in providing Christ-centered services to children and families in need. This position will focus primarily on reporting, placements, biannual home visits, and client file documentation relating to the agency’s Foster Care program, but will have additional responsibilities as well.

Orphan's Heart Administrative Assistant X

Florida Baptist Children's Homes is seeking to employ a Miami based Administrative Assistant for its Orphan's Heart international childcare program.This person will provide support services to appropriate personnel, programs and clients and to enhance the overall effectiveness of the Orphan’s Heart ministry. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for International Childcare mission trips and coordination of humanitarian aid.  The job will require the ability to tend to many details as well as the ability and desire to interact and communicate with others in a customer service role.  This will require knowledge of all aspects of our ministry, communicating confidence in our abilities, and inspiring others to join in our work.  The goal of our every interaction is to leave each person we interact with to be delighted with the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes.
